Clinical Epidemiology and Chemotherapy

Emerging and re-emerging VBDs continue to be a major public health problem in India. All the components of the disease control programmes in terms of clinical profile, diagnosis and surveillance need to be supported through research in developing policies and for advocacy.


CEC focuses on clinical epidemiology of vector borne diseases including clinical profiles among the communities, undertaking clinical trials to advocate standard treatment protocols, tagging complementary system of treatment to alleviate morbidity, application of modern tools like GIS and remote sensing for facilities, treatment mapping and developing rapid surveillance tools for emerging / unrecognized public health problem like scrub typhus.
